Treasure hunter accuses FBI of covering up discovery of billions in Civil War gold

Dennis Parada of the Finders Keepers organization sued the FBI to release records of the excavation of the missing 1863 gold shipment. Along with eyewitnesses, he accuses the Federal Bureau of Investigation of digging up more than $11 billion worth of Civil War gold in the middle of the night five years ago and taking it in secret to an unknown location. They found a million copper pennies in the basement

Approximately one million one-cent coins were discovered by John Reyes when he and his wife were cleaning out her father's house in Los Angeles. The treasure was hidden in bank bags. Reyes is offering the coins through a sales app for $25,000, roughly three times face value.
